Te Pae Convention Centre Website Design and Development

Te Pae Christchurch is a world class convention centre, a landmark shaped by the rivers of Canterbury and steeped in cultural meaning. Its website needed to reflect that.

The original site, built before the venue opened, had become outdated and difficult to use. It didn’t support the needs of organisers, visitors or staff, and it didn’t reflect the depth or quality of the venue itself.

This project was a chance to start fresh. We restructured the content around three clear user journeys, Organisers, Events and Visitors, supported by tools and resources that help users find what they need quickly and intuitively. 

The design takes its lead from the venue’s architecture, inspired by flowing water and grounded in place. A bold, refined aesthetic, paired with subtle animation and Te Reo Māori integration, gives the site both presence and depth.

The result is a digital experience that’s not just functional, but meaningful. A website that reflects the space it represents, with clarity, care and intent.
