Haeata Community Campus

  • Branding,
  • Brand Identity

The amalgamation of Aranui, Wainoni and Avondale primary schools and Aranui High School into Haeata Community Campus provided a unique positioning from which to develop an identity. One that pays homage to the respective pasts of four different schools while focusing on the future. Vital as it was to honour the histories and values of four different schools, the brief for this project had a wonderful focus on the future.

We were tasked with creating a lasting identity that would develop with this emerging school, an identity that would launch with meaning and purpose while still allowing the school community to unpack their narrative.

The logo was designed with the merging of four entities and the emergence of the new Haeata Community Campus at its core.

Combining four schools into one new school requires a great deal of empathy for the local communities, and the Haeata brief demanded empathy to shine positively through the new identity. Many stakeholders with a highly emotional and vested interest were involved. We took them on a very inclusive and carefully managed journey to develop an identity that is surprisingly simple, elegant and unanimously approved.
