How it works:
You apply online and we choose one company every month.
We get the lucky winner to fill in a short brief and tell us about their company, product or service they wish to be spanked.
You provide us with any key mandatories (logos, brand colours etc.) along with any samples of previous communications (brochure, adverts, web sites etc.). Our creative director will discuss the brief with you and make sure we understand your company.
The Brand storm:
In the 1st 30 minutes of the session, the team discusses your brief and brainstorms during a blue sky session to establish any creative hooks/themes. We rip it apart speaking straight from the heart.
Then we start up the tennis ball machine, firing ideas at each other and hitting them back and forth. Most die at the net, some turn into satisfying rallies. These gems then get taken over into…
The Brand spank:
The next 90 minutes we all go and start creating stuff – our design people may put together an ad campaign or billboard etc., while the others might work on a web strategy or brand marketing tactics.
Great ideas don’t come purely from piles of research. They are an emotional response. A visceral reaction.
Often our best ideas are the innocent, uncluttered ones. They cut through because they are so simple.
The Brand new:
You agree that whatever we produce we can publish on our web site. We agree that you can use any of the ideas.
We want to start a new conversation with you and with your customers. Fresh ideas come from a fresh perspective.
Why do we do it:
We love creativity and this gives us an opportunity as a team to flex our creative muscles without any restrictions. We are believers that the first ideas are always the strongest ideas and a session like this lets us explore the possibilities without any restrictions.
It gives us some stories to tell on our web site (the good, the bad and the ugly), which we invite anyone to comment on. A vehicle for us to start conversations with customers, the design and marketing community and anyone else who has an opinion.
It gives the BrandSpank client a lot of creative to do what they want with – good karma and if the client likes what we’ve done then we may have an opportunity to work together in the future.
