The corporate world is starting to dip its toes into the waters of the blogosphere and it seems that everyone is talking about company blogs (and let’s not even get started on Twitter.) However before you consider taking the plunge a few words of warning:
To gain followers your content needs to be interesting & valuable – no one wants to read a sales pitch.
Blogging is a conversation – that means your tone should be conversational! And more importantly, you need to invite comments. Conversations aren’t one-way.
You can never really control a blog. Be prepared for negative comments: that means be ready to address them, don’t just delete them.
Maintaining a blog takes time and commitment.
